This was our third visit in a year and we spent a week here at half term. The Lodge is fully equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The location is excellent and the bus which runs from right outside into Shrewsbury is great. The nearby park with childrens play area was ideal for walking the dog and the handy village shop stocked most things. We did slightly miss having our own outside space as the weather was wonderful but as we were out most days this wasn't too important and we did use the pub garden on a couple of occasions.

Would highly recommend the Red Lion too, the food and service are both excellent.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday, cottage was adequate for our needs, and central enough to reach our planned destinations. We ate regularly in the Red Lion, where the owners were welcoming and the food was very good. I did miss not having a clock or any hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes whilst bathing, but these were only minor irritations.

It is well equipped and tastefully furnished and decorated with plenty of character. The free wifi and two wet rooms are a bonus! Stayed for four nights with our seven year old daughter and would definitely use the lodge again as a base in Shropshire. It is situated in a quiet village but with easy access to Shrewsbury and surrounding areas including ironbridge and north wales. Whilst it is quiet, bear in mind that it is situated behind a pub and so a little noise as people return to their cars at 10.30/11 ish some nights should be expected.

Cottage was finished to a high standard with everything you need for a great break. It was deceptively spacious bigger inside than it looked from the pictures. Loved the log burner but got very warm with it lit! Red Lion Pub was lovely and the food of very good quality, had a couple of nice meals there, could highly recommend

What was even better was the food in the Red Lion. My husband and I both agreed it was of the highest quality. I had the Vegetarian Spaghetti dish and it was delish!!!!
